Remember this is just an Auto camera comparison.. The Mate 20 Pro has a pro mode, soo extra points for Huawei there...

I think this maybe down to personal preference, because in most of these shots, I prefer the image from the Mate 20 Pro. More details, less blur, more natural colour, more light... most of the time.

How can this be a comparison between 2 phones when u don't show an additionally wide angle photo which is the cameras best feature you could have shot or the advanced macro with closer than any other phone camera can do .tell the people into photography shooting 40 meg in raw format and manual exposure or they could put on a nano sim to save those 40 mega raw pictures. stabilisation maybe I'm biased but mate 20 pro look slightly less shaky if you going to compare 40 meg picture will look sharper its the camera sensor many thanks Steve

Wait. The blurring below the neck of the face close up shot is more like a bokeh effect, no? This shows Mate 20 has better depth of view? Excellent btw. Hope to see the comparison between Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro cameras soon too!

Mate 20 pro did really well in both still n videos...the pics were more natural on the Huawei..clear winner...stabilization was much better...

Hmm Huawei does do better. But the portrait mode is hard the mate 20 pro looks sharper and clearer and the iPhone makes skin look like playdoh so both of them aren't really hitting it in auto mode or the portrait mode when taking selfies. And for the first time is the front facing camera on the iPhone really looks badly washed out and yellowish making the comment on that subject a bit weird.

A bit lame review imo, zoom capabilities and wide angle lens from Mate20pro are not included in comparison, also macro shots, huawei can get much closer to subject than Iphone, but overall two good cameras, close shot.. I'd say huawei is more versatile and if you want to retouch pictures and tweak settings after taking image, (or before, in pro mode), Iphone is just no match for Mate20pro in that specific category, not to mention raw capabilities that XS also does not have, at least that I know.

It's the Mate 20 Pro over the XS for me. I like the M20P's colour rendition better.
