Date Nite at Disneyland was the parks first separate admission night time event. It was design to boost attendance and ended up creating a new market for the burgeoning theme park.

If current Disney execs brought Date Nite back, it would be a four hour event and tickets would cost $300 each

My Mom said when she was a young in the 70's she went to Disneyland with her family and Grampa( her Mom's Dad) and he Loved to dance so went the sing banged placed in Main Street at the time. Her Grampa dances EVERY song. Which his Pantera were My Grams and Mom. Mom said she was about 7 or 8 at the time. And Grampa weren't stop it got to the point to they, Grams and Mom went asking every single woman to dance with him. she said thankfully most said yes. In the 80's as a teen she would dance with Grams then older men She said it was Funny the older women asked her to dance with their husbands. I don't know if it there anymore I haven't been in a few years But they had a swing band playing in a gazebo kinda hidden on the side of Adventure Land. So I danced with both my Grams and Mom. I was only like 6 at that time. Yes Mom taught me and my older brother early. Like her Mom.
