I think calling Adolescence ‘propaganda’ dismisses the very real experiences that many women, like Katie in the show, actually go through. The series isn’t about pushing an agenda—it’s about shedding light on issues like violence, toxic masculinity, and the societal factors that shape young boys into men. Just because a story highlights the struggles of a female victim doesn’t mean it’s anti-male; in fact, it also explores how young boys can be influenced by their surroundings in damaging ways. Ignoring these realities doesn’t make them any less true.
