What Georgia election results mean for Georgia, the EU and Russia | DW News

The electoral commission has declared the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party winner of parliamentary elections. With almost all the votes counted official results give them over 54 percent of the vote, in a poll seen as crucial for the former Soviet republic's future. The country's pro-European Union opposition says the results were falsified and the election stolen.

Interesting how Moldova didn't allowed immigrants who working in Russia to vote and 'pro EU ' president won but as soon Georgian election results came out the whole west starts to cry that is against the rules and how come people can vote against the 'perfect EU future'....

Not joining the EU will be a major blessing for Georgia. Brussels is rotting to its core. An arrangement similar to that of Norway would be better for Georgia IMHO. They need some room to maintain amicable relations with both Europe and Russia. Brussels can't seem to tolerate that. See Hungary for example.

Georgians voted for the party that they felt serves Georgia's interests and not the intersta of foreign entities, the EU. Deal with it.
