This is the shocking moment a group of Just Stop Oil protesters risked causing 'serious harm' when they invaded the track at the British Grand Prix.

The climate activists wandered onto the tarmac at Silverstone during the first lap of the race, which had been red flagged due to a crash on July 3 last year.

A court heard the group posed 'an immediate risk of serious harm' to Formula One drivers racing around the track as well as race marshals.

Bethany Mogie, 40, David Baldwin, 47, Alasdair Gibson, 22, Emily Brocklebank, 24, Louis McKechnie, 22, and Joshua Smith, 29, went on trial accused of conspiracy to cause public nuisance.

Today (Fri) they were all found guilty of the charge following a trial at Northampton Crown Court.

Following the case, police released footage of the heart-stopping moment the group invaded the track as F1 cars sped past.

Body-cam footage also captured the moment officers moved in to remove them with one campaigner being heard to shout: "This is a climate emergency."

The court heard five of them had managed to walk onto the tarmac and sit down on the live race track armed with glue, intending to glue themselves to the floor.

"I was going 300 kmph, there is no chance I could have stopped" would be my press statement

These arent protesters, these are speed bumps.

People need to go to prison for this nonsense. Defacing Stonehenge and the Mona Lisa is this is unacceptable. These attention hogs are putting others in danger, not just themselves. This is the wrong way to publicize their position.

The hilarious thing is they all had to pay for their tickets

I love how they have the authority to just pick them up and move them because they technically count as debris on the track.

Half the things they are wearing comes from petroleum products ...

That is about as smart as standing in front of a target at the gun range to protest gun laws.

the amount of oil they stopped is incredible, truly a big change.

The track's staff was more effective than most cops

Apparently they’ve never heard of what happened in South Africa in 1977.

These should all be sued for attempted murder on every single driver. 20 drivers? 20 counts of attempted murder.

There is just no way these people are serious, they're literally turning everyone against them.

Pretty hard to persuade people to adopt your point of view when you go out of your way to irritate everyone in the dumbest ways possible

I love how they contemplated fully blocking the track, but then saw how fast the cars were coming at them and noped out.

I was at the race. I had no idea this happened until I’d got home. The circuit organisers did I brilliant job of not giving the protesters any air time 👌

How embarrassing you must feel when 100k people at the track and millions around the world are seeing you dragged out of the circuit. This is beyond delusional.

They think "wow I'm so cool" lol when in reality they're just an embarassment

This isn't protesting, this is putting the drivers at risk
