Many New Jerseyans tell us they have no idea how to pump their own gas. ⛽ With the busy holiday travel season coming up, we want to prep you for those out-of-state trips. 🚗 Know anybody who needs help at the pump?

So sad. There are people that can never leave NJ because they can't pump their own gas. If you can read English you can pump your own gas. It's not hard and does not require a doctorate.

I've lived in NJ my whole life and I pump my own gas about 90% of the time because I don't want to wait for the attendant that's running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to take care 8 pumps all by himself!!! It benefits me, by saving time by getting me in & out of the gas station!!!

Wow people must really be dumb in this state. I’ve been pumping gas since I was 12. My daughter is 16 and can pump gas, and my 95 year old grandma still drives and pumps her own gas.

You forgot that you have to press the nozzle to dispense the gas and also have to close the cap on your car.

Everyone may shit on this and have some need to feel independent but its a job that shouldn't put people out of work for no reason. Its the easiest way to create jobs across the country. Not to mention a bunch of people touching the same thing and it never being cleaned. Its something not have to worry about

Um it's not rocket science. Most people have left the state at one time or another and have had to fill their own gas tanks.

No mention of the risk of static electricity which can cause a fire ( when pumping NEVER re-enter your car and get out again during the refueling process)But never mind its much more important for the guys here to be  funny and "cute" ( poor attempts at both.).. anyway even in states where people are " born pumping their own gas"  there are many incidents each year where someone blows up a gas station  because they don't know how to pump gas correctly.Never to worry its much more important for nj.com staffers to be actors for a day....  at least they actually went out and visited a gas station rather than copy and paste another boring ho
