Don’t move to Corpus Christ, Texas. Seriously. Let us tell you why.. In this series we tell you the WORST places to live in the United States. Our TOP 10 Lists tell you where NOT to move and why we think you should avoid it.

Corpus Christi is a Texas city on the Gulf of Mexico. It’s tucked into a bay and its beaches are sheltered by Padre and Mustang islands. The Padre Island National Seashore is home to migratory birds and endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles. The harborfront Texas State Aquarium has touch pools, an aquatic nursery and a shark exhibit. Nearby, a WWII aircraft carrier, USS Lexington, now houses a naval aviation museum. ― Google

#CORPUSCHRISTI #TEXAS #SELENA I don’t know if you need to hear this, but:

These lists are not intended to be used for making life changing decisions. They are just another look at the city. I present both good and bad points of view on this channel. I don’t just make videos that are negative. There are positive videos on the channel too, check them out. They are made from statistical sources made available by government agencies as well as first hand resident experiences. If you are happy living here, I am happy for you. No need to send me death threats.

I feel like Scorpions just got thrown in there. I've been here all my life and have never had an issue with a scorpion.

I'm from Corpus Christi and the only thing bad here are the roads, construction, and and how long it takes the city board to decide anything. Other than that that's it. You rarely find scorpions in the city, but in the outskirts you'll find them usually at night. The "wide open spaces" argument for houses you literally can make that comment for any decent sized city and big city. It gets chilly and super windy during the winter. It freezes the roads every year and sometimes snows. And of course during the summer it gets hot, but not like Florida hot lol idk I did some "confirmation bias" and it says graduation rate is above the state average. Crime percentage wise I'll give it to you, but only if you're on the wrong side of town. Other than that you'll be okay. There's no fear for hurricanes here. Yeah we get them every other year, but there's no fear if you live here. There are bad drivers in every city I have encountered. The dirty part I'll give it to you, but in certain parts of CC it's very pleasing to the eye. Also spring breakers head to Port Aransas or padre island. Other than 1 beach it doesn't get anything other than the norm. Naming it the worst city in the U.S. Yeah I'm sorry that title is click bait lol

I retired to Corpus from Salt Lake City and will never leave! I love this city. It is obvious that this person has never been here. She is clueless.

I am from NY and rented a tiny apartment for $3000 a month. When I retired I bought 2 houses, one in Corpus and 20 miles away on Mustang Island, both for under $300, 000! Try doing that in Manhattan or Jersey! Money goes a lot further down south. Two of my friends did the same. Watching a gulf sunrise every morning and watching a full moon rise out of the water sure beats NYC by far! Also, I have never seen scorpions and the majority of what you posted in your video. If you want crime..just look no further than NYC! Try kicking people onto the subway tracks and all the muggings and pick pockets while you are walking in Manhattan. Another thing...eating here in Corpus is cheap compared to up north. Groceries sell at wholesale prices down here.

after 18 years in L.A. and 13 years in rainy, cold WA state...I'll take Corpus for the rest of my life thank you very much. :)

I love Corpus Christi. I love the relaxing pace of life and the friendly people. The biggest complaint I have is potholes throughout the city and the half ass way they are repaired.

This is snobby. We have edges, id choose it over atx anyday. The mexican food is fire, I get a giant brand new house for dirt cheap, I can walk to the beach and ride my bike with my kid to school every morning watch the sun rise abov the dunes, tons of exotic birds, botanical gardens, great university. With inflation going on, maybe dont sleep on CC. I lived in Santa Barbara and Id take corpus any day over some truman town pretentious feeling bs. Hell if ya need a house hit me up ;) and finally like no traffic, need i say more?!

If coming home drunk is a consideration for your choice of places to live, then you should absolutely look somewhere else. Preferably far, far away from here!

I’m sorry but as someone who lives here about 75-80% of this video is probably more opinion than truth.

Schools, there are great schools here! Public and private! I graduated from a local public school and went on to college just fine!

Crime. Just like any city it has its pockets of crime. Very violent crime is rare but can happen. The video exaggerates this one.

Dirty. Just like ANY other city, it has its pockets. Any city will have the same. I frequent downtown a lot and have never seen needles or beer bottles.

Lastly. I’ve never seen a scorpion!

In conclusion, i see these videos about any city. Every town will have its pros and cons, but if you’re thinking about visiting or moving, maybe ask a local!

Even though pay is low, so is cost of living. You’ll be hard pressed to find lower cost housing anywhere in the country near the beach. I don’t live in Corpus but we live in south Texas and visit Corpus 2-3 times a year to go to the beach. Also agree…it’s not always just hot, they have cooler temps in winter and spring

The city is run down. City council and local politicians are corrupt and get nothing done. This area lives as if it were stuck in a third world country (I’ve traveled to them). It’s not high on the education scale and you will hear stupid people shout from their truck:”this right here is my truck” as they attempt to bowl you over on the road. If you like food it’s good. I can’t find many redeeming qualities and I’ve been here for four years. My time is counting down quickly. I’ll leave anywhere else as this city has a massive crime rate beyond the national average. Visit, don’t live.

I’m a Vet and hotshot truck driver 3 kids and a wife that works from home. Been here for 4 months I don’t know what she’s on but South CC is great and very clean elementary schools that are super concerned about the students VA Hospital wattaburger Walmart, target, Starbucks kohl’s Best Buy sams Macy’s Peter piper circle K AutoZone and golds gym planet fitness, ford n tesla and many other places you can shake a stick at are all out here. great gazebo n patio weather in may but 32-63 in the winter. Big yards n high ceiling houses. Great playgrounds near the beach for the kids and pleasant educated people to hang around with while the kids play. Bad drivers throughout the country of course. I can leave my car running in the morning or my back door unlocked with no major worries

I moved to Corpus from San Diego. I have lived in Seattle, New Orleans, and San Luis Obispo.

Corpus is an awesome sized sea side town. Barely any homeless, nice people, no traffic.

Sometimes it’s like a ghost town. With all the construction you can tell it is moving to the next level, so I am glad I got in when I did.

The Bay Area where I live is especially awesome. I walk on Ocean Drive near Cole Park with my wife almost every evening and it’s so relaxing compared to San Diego.

I don’t think it will ever get to SD size, but with Texas having a national moment right now it will transform over this next decade. I’m glad to be here with random people just like fishing 24/7 off the side of the road like the damn 1970s 😂

I was born in Corpus Christi but raised in WA state. I'm currently visiting family but omg... do I hate it here. Right when I exited the airport, it look like trash... the "Welcome to Corpus Christi" sign was all beat up and there was trash everywhere lol. I absolutely hate going out anywhere because people are soo fucking rude to me for absolutely no reason. I'm sorry but its so ghetto and trashy here. Yall can say what u want, but this place is not friendly at all. I want to love my hometown but I just can't.

Unfortunately there is so much corruption here, it keeps the city from ever developing or progressing.

Born and raised in Corpus. Never seen a wild scorpion in my life. Every house in the neighborhoods are beautiful and are VERY large depending on the neighborhood. Never felt like the city was crowded during Spring Break. CCISD is the worst school system however there are other public school districts that are way better. Crime depends on the area (just like any other city). When it comes to driving you are somewhat right. But driving in more major cities like San Antonio or Houston is hell compared to here. Weather is often warm, yes, but many enjoy it. The city is in South Texas so of course it’s weather is warm. Severe weather is surprisingly negligible. I was born in 2004 and have only witnessed one major hurricane as of February 2022, that hurricane being Harvey which devastated Houston more than us. Low pay is often offset by low cost of living. And the wage gap is due to more men going into industry more than woman. Our city’s main source of jobs is industrial. The only point that is valid is the “dirty” one. The North and west side are very old and so is downtown. BUT. The south side is very new with the oldest buildings there built in the 80s. The city sadly gives more attention to the south side than any other area.

Ahhh the sparkling city by the sea….said no one ever. Corpus Christi is one of the most ghetto cities in Texas. Such a shame that a city with so much potential is such an armpit.
