Tried Xubuntu 24.04 a few months ago & ran into some problems. But have just installed 24.01 & the point release has been very successful. Everything working perfectly. Bluetooth headphones, Brother laser printer. Seems as good as Linux Mint XFCE 21. Good job Xubuntu team.

Unfortunately, I tried multiple times to install this on my 2011 MBP yesterday and every time it went from live USB to install on the hard disk, I got screen whiteouts and flicking. It shouldn't be am issue with the discrete gpu because I had replaced the defective one with an updated model. 😢

It's too bad the upstream XFCE developers foolishly adopted client side decoration. What was once a pleasurable and consistent desktop experience is now a wild mismatch of titlebar headers. Hopefully those people step down and their failed vision is swiftly reverted.
