Sadly I haven't heard a single regular person talk about, or even know what android wear is. The fact is there isn't any main stream advertising for android wear and it is being treated officially as a beta. I don't think the average person will learn about android wear until Apple releases its wearable, and people really start to take notice of this particular segment of technology.

A good idea will be using it in Video Games for phones, like a CoD showing minimap, or even in a new Dead Triger showing notifications, or even in future, imagine that sony launching a smart watch that can be connected to ps4, all the posibilities :D

Tonight my local news station ran a story about Apple filing a patent for "iTime" and that it would be the first computer to be on a wrist. *facepalms extremely hard*

 I'm watching at the 00:20 mark and the lady sees that the pants she's looking at are on sale; are we so connected/ addicted to our smartphones/ watches, that we can't peel our eyes away to see the "On Sale" sign right in front of us?

Android wear is not going to take off until the watches are fashionably acceptable. Once a cool designed watch comes out (not the bulky squared ones), more people will buy it for the fact that it looks cool.

And for those saying "who needs a smart watch when I have my smartphone". People said that about tablets and tablets took off. Even though tablets are basically over-sized smart phones.

And for those saying "who will be so lazy to buy this just to check the time when they can check the time on their phones". People said this in the past too. Pocket watches were a thing before wrist watches. When wrist watches were first coming out, people criticized it saying the same thing. That people are lazy if they switch from a pocket watch to a wrist watch. But wrist watches overcame the popularity over pocket watches. Why? Because people like convenience even if it's saving you a second of time to check the time.lol 

And for those saying "there's no way people are going to spend that much money for a smart watch". People today are still buying $300 watches that only do one thing and that's tell the time. You think they won't buy a watch at the same price that does more? Again, if the fashion is right, it will take off.

Pebble still dominates the Smart Watch market, all I will say is good luck Google in over throwing Pebble there is not stopping pebble they still have good pricing over any smart watch to date.
