Sir Van Morrison to release anti-lockdown, protest songs

In Van Morrison's new protest songs, he accuses the British government of "taking our freedom" and describes them as “fascist bullies disturbing our peace” while denouncing what he called the "pseudoscience" around coronavirus and safety measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Health Minister Robin Swann said if Sir Van Morrison had scientific facts he should present them.
"I don't know where he gets his facts. I know where the emotions are on this, but I will say that sort of messaging is dangerous."
BBC reports that the prime minister said the government was doing "everything in our power" to prevent another nationwide lockdown.
At the Commons Liaison Committee on Wednesday, Boris Johnson told MPs
"So when I see people arguing against the rule of six or saying that the government is coming in too hard on individual liberties and so on - I totally understand that and I sympathise with that, but we must, must defeat this disease."
In a statement announcing the songs, Sir Van Morrison said: "I'm not telling people what to do or think, the government is doing a great job of that already. It's about freedom of choice, I believe people should have the right to think for themselves."
Last month, Sir Van Morrison called on his “fellow singers, musicians, writers, producers, promoters and others in the industry to fight with me on this. Come forward, stand up, fight the pseudo-science and speak up.”
The three new songs will be released at two-week intervals with the first one, 'Born To Be Free' appearing on Sept 25
