👉Our friends over at @geekbuying sent over an Anbernic Win 600 for Zu to review. Powered by the AMD Athlon Silver 3050e with 256GB of on-board storage, this comfortable x86 handheld is certainly impressive, but can it still hold up in the late 2023 marketplace? Idk, watch the video and see. I'm not going to just tell you the answer in the description. Come on.

Do you want Zu to see how far he can push the Win600 with a PC game showcase??? 😮

Loved the long “what did we learn” segment my friend, great work.

I remember when this came out, I wanted it so badly, but im glad I waited for reviews and saved my money for a steam deck.

Funny that this video releases on the day I bring my Win600 out with me today. I love this thing still and I haven't done any of the hardcore tweaks everyone else does. I play Steam games in windows 'big picture' mode and have a Batocera flash drive. Plus it works with Pico-8's native Windows version!

I got my Win600 almost a year ago, and I've had a lot of fun with old pc games and a few new PC titles, like Forza, or indie games. The upgrades make this machine a solid device.

This makes sense in markets that don't have access to steam deck.

Running Batocera on mine on a 2TB SSD.
Plays a few PS3 games as well and you can also run many PC games in Batocera as well.
MK 9 for eg runs well even on higher graphic settings, MK X on low settings runs, but even then some stutters.
Killer Instinct 2013 runs well on low graphic settings.
But yeah, I love Batocera on mine, I did try Jelos but much prefer Batocera.
Only thing Jelos has thats better is that TDP setting option.
Dpad gaming is great on the win600, but the switch control sticks arent great and neither is battery life, although thats also true with almost all other x86 64 based handhelds.
Btw yeah, you can run a ton of PS2 games, including God of War 1 and 2 with full speed at native res though.
And dont forget the pcsx2 emulator in Batocera has fractional upscale options, so if game doesnt upscale to 2x, try 1.75, 1.5x or 1.25x.

And dont forget, emulation on Arm based handhelds that run android, you wont have options to emulate PC games, Xbox, Wii U or PS3 (although the win600 cant run many ps3 games though), model 2, model 3, naomi 2. (As far as I know)

However, if I was in the market for one now Id prob opt for the Loki Zero over the win600, better ergonomics, better control sticks, yeah it has dual channel RAM as well but for the vast majority of emulation this wont bebof benefit as far as I know.
Id youre running windows and all PC games then sure, thats different.
Also, the m.2 2230 ssd that this uses for a 2TB one they just cost more than a 2TB one the win600 uses (m.2 2242)

There's something about how it looks, it's strangely aesthetic...

I didn't like the controls but the size and feel was good. I think you can get the original Aya Neo Air and it's a lot better.

I do wonder if this is worth it nowadays since it can go for 270$ with a 1TB SSD and 16GBs of RAM. Still, the simple fact 130$ more gets you a Steam Deck makes it look not worth it, however, said Steam Deck only comes with 64GBs.

Im new to these type of handhelds and was really interested in the Windows based handhelds but don't feel comfortable with the tinkering. I still can't get my RG351p right.

But i love watching these reviews.

This is a Steam Deck alternative like bathing in a sewer is a morning shower alternative.

I want to see a companion to the AYN Odin 2 Max

I don't understand man. Can't you get the loki zero with the same chip, better ram, and much better ergos at a lower price?

NGL when I clicked the notification I thought this was a Retro Tech Dad video.

If the price was bellow 250 it would sell like hot cakes. And 200 on promotions? Anbernic wouldnt have production capacity for it. But at 300 for the entry level you can go odin 2, loki or deck and if performance isnt your main priority then the t618 devices might be an option

Is there any battery charging limit feature on this one?

Hi, a question: can you install games on an external hard drive and start the games directly from the external hard drive? so as not to take up all the console memory? A thousand thanks
