I see how the CNC machine does make a exact replica every time which to me was impressive, but what i did happen to see is the automation approach of some of the workers at their stations there was no self quality check of the job they just performed, like the person sanding the bodies, it looked as if he just hit the areas he was supposed to hit without a second glance when he was done, and the person sanding the necks, to me it looked as if they were sanding to sand with no rime or reason? hopefully there was a quality control inspection after the fact. I am a taylor fan and love their sound, but this video did raise my eyebrow

Lol everyone is so fearful of cnc automation and it’s perceived effect on quality. These are precise to the mm, and the end results are outstanding.
Blaming the construction off the bat conveniently removes the player from the equation. Consistency is key!

My point was it's a guitar not a piece of furniture. They have a huge range and when you pay several thousand dollars for a guitar it does become a price comparrison to hand built guitars. I had a hand built guitar and they don't cost really anymore in fact some are cheaper.

Industrial guitar building doesn’t voice there guitars each guitar is just a clone of the previous one. I’m not saying they aren’t good guitars and they serve there purpose many of us can’t afford custom guitars but with that said it steals they mystery and craftsmanship from guitar building. Just an opinion!

Randy I agree with you. No thought as to the sound of the end product. How can we produce it cheaper and quicker than Martin to make more money.
There is no craftsmanship in a Taylor guitar no voicing or as I see it testing of the end product. They epitomise the pinnacle of how to make money from a product.
Andy Powers endorses this, shame on him and Taylor. Typical of a company profit driven with little thought on the end product. By this I mean if we use good woods and a set procedure on manufacturing all automated with very little human intervention. You achieve a standard product plus or minus a percentage on sound and playability
Go Martin forget this product it’s cheap to produce that’s the goal 2 mins here 5 mins there and so on. They are a blight on the industry

For Taylor I would suggest you stop factory tours. These tours demonstrate the mechanical way you produce guitars. Very sad to see that you have little or no interest in the final product. As long as you use good woods and jigs to assemble in the fastest way possible all equal. No way Taylor for me best avoided of most brands

Very sad they’ve taken the art of guitar building and reduced it to an automated nightmare I own a 114ce it’s an okay guitar but it has no soul much like this place. They are building guitars for pennies on the dollar and bringing them back north and selling for big bucks. Shame on taylor
