Arsenal: Mikel Arteta reveals Mikel Merino injury

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that new signing Mikel Merino has been ruled out "for weeks" with a shoulder injury picked up in training.

The midfielder signed a four-year deal at the Emirates Stadium earlier this week, becoming Arsenal's fourth signing of the summer.

I can not imagine what will happen after Merino injury, ESR & Viera export, if Partey now somehow gets injured, Havertz will again have to drop down to midfield and we all know how that can play out for over a lot of games! How could Arteta & Edu make the midfield so thin & transfers so late?

So, let me get this straight, they spent all summer clearing the books and just replacing one player for another. They got a LB when we already have qwior, zinny and timber and a midfielder when we already have partey/jorginho there. Saka now has to play 39 games again and will burn out once may comes around. Why keep Nelson when he won't play any games?
