I’m new to painting cars and getting ready to start class for it and been seeing a lot of videos with the previous paint being left on a bit like how it is in this one then they’ll start applying the gray color(I got no idea what it is so just calling it the gray color for now) why is that?

Although this looks good on video you are spraying the base too wet.. you could end up swelling the feather edge or paint underneath. I have done this for 35 years
