What would be nice is if Seattle released their actual mascot while saying something like “We trolled you guys”.

There’s a giant statue in Seattle under a bridge called the Fremont troll. So the mascot being a troll makes sense.

They should make Davy Jones a 2nd mascot because Buoy is still really good, but I would love to see some sort of octopus as a mascot. I get why they didn’t do it because of Detroit, but I would still love to see that.

The troll is a famous landmark under the Fremont bridge in Seattle . So there is a meaning it’s pretty cool

Fun Fact! Seattle has a sand troll under one of their bridges at the north end of Lake Union. I could imagine that that sand troll is an inspiration to the mascot!

As adults, my wife and I were a little underwhelmed with Bouy as well. However, my 8 year old daughter absolutely adores him. During his appearance at training camp he was a huge hit with the kids and adults alike. I think he does the job as far as mascots go and the merch definitely flew off the shelves lol

Krakens mascot being a troll kinda makes sense, because seattle loves a riot and those riots are usually full of cave trolls.

It's no Gritty, but it is very merchandisable. Didn't get it until the Fremont Troll connection was made. Doubt it will be "kraken" my top 5 NHL mascots list.

I was at the game when he was shown, the kids love him he’s based on a famous landmark in Seattle, and it was entertaining to watch him fall in the ice

I don’t understand the hate from other fan bases. I’m not a Seattle fan, but if the kids enjoy him isn’t that all that really matters in the end 🤷🏻‍♂️
