As an average hard-working guy, here is a simple reason why we are not getting married.

Most of the time, you go to cafes, you enter buildings and see the receptionist, or go to a cash register, and there is usually a young, attractive woman at the counter. They usually show a lack of basic decency. They are not necessarily mean to you, but they usually give you off-putting vibes.

How are we supposed to spend 50 years with that sort of attitude?

If guys don't want to get themselves caught up in the laws regarding 'common law' relationships, then just avoid getting into such relationships altogether.
There is no law which says that two people in a relationship must live together or share assets of any kind. If someone, either the man or the woman, doesn't want that level of entanglement, then have the self-control to avoid getting in too deep too fast. People who don't have that discipline or common sense deserve what they get. It sucks to be stupid.

Get rid of no-fault divorce and make it at-fault so that the person that does something like cheating, the other spouse should get the bulk of the assets. Also, during the divorce if the other ex lies that should work against the person that lied and not favor the person that lied. Also, if it is determined that the other person lied during the divorce, and it is found out later the person that lied for example who a kid's bio-father is then the one that lied is liable to repay any money received due to the lie. Putting these changes in place will dramatically lower divorce rates.
