A billionaire tells us that increasing taxes on billionaires is a bad idea?

Mmm...okay. 👌

If I was getting paid (notice I didn't say earn) say $12 million/year and the top marginal tax rate was 70%, I think I could live with paying $1.4 million on the income over $10 million, but then I value the society I live in.
Remember when they talk of the top tax rate they are talking about taxing only those monies over the threshold at that rate, not the total income.

Shocking: The Wall St lawyer doesn’t want to talk about raising taxes on the top 1%. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️😡. #TaxTheRich

70% tax on income over $10 million a year... the billionaires don’t like that. Everyone else loves it (or should if they have a brain) hope the billionaires drop out of politics and let good people like AOC prevail. Vote Democrat in 2020

Billionaires trying to hold onto their money, it's not like they can take it to their grave. If I made over 10 mil a year, I'd gladly pay the 70% tax. After all, I can still afford a few supercars a year and live in a mansion.

The Marginal tax rate was 90% under Eisenhower, it didn't go below 70% until the Reagan era, that's why the middle class boomed in the 50's, 60's and 70's, trickle down economics never works for average folks.

Taxing the ultra wealthy is going to be the number one issue for 2020 as it should be.

Whoever proposes the highest tax on the rich has my vote.

It´s simple really; One man, one vote; end gerrymandering and stop the legalized bribery system. (Money and politics don´t marry well.) Do this, and perhaps America can be a democracy again.

If no one paid the headline rate, why was it so important to reduce it?

I don't understand why taxing the rich and wealthy is an issue worth debating. From a logical standpoint, if you make more, you should be expected to pay your fair share.

Forgive Richard Farley. Trying to kiss up to the filthy rich. This is not his first language. His mother tongue is variances of "Oink, oink, oink oink oink."
