A quick look inside Abraham Lincoln's Tomb

I did this quickly and softly as there were others around ..But nice to finally see it after so long. The Lincoln Tomb is one that has seen a lot of bizarre activity with it's occupants. There was 2 attempts to steal Lincoln's body..Also there was a macabre practice to open Lincoln's coffin now and then to see if he was in it and also to see how he was fairing. The last time he was looked at was at the time of his last burial in 1901. This was 36 yeas after his death and the time he would be buried under 10 feet of cement. Today Lincoln is at rest after being moved and looked at countless times. Entombed with him is his wife Mary, and three of their four children. Tad, Willie and Edward. It has today a little bit of an Art Deco interior as it was last restored in 1930...A most unusual tomb with a most unusual history. It was interesting to see it finally.
