Bald Rock National Park

OPEN FOR ADVENTURE! Bald Rock is Australia’s largest exposed granite monolith and is located right here in Tenterfield. 📍 An easy drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the park is accessible via Bald Rock Access Road off Mt Lindesay Road.

Bald Rock National Park rewards bushwalkers and climbers with an expansive panoramic view unrivalled in the New England Region. Choose to take a gentle 2.5km climb to the summit or challenge yourself with with a short, but very steep climb up the face of the rock. Situated 260m above the surrounding bushland, this massive granite dome measures 750m long by 500m wide. At close to 1300m above sea level, you’ll experience a remote ‘top of the world’ feeling from the summit.

Be in awe of the landscape as you make your way through large granite archways, scattered boulders and deep gorges. There are photo opportunities galore and, along the way, you’ll also discover a pile of enormous smooth granite stones balancing strangely across each other
