I feel like this video really misses out on how the last 4 episodes of The Clone Wars parallels The Clone Wars theatrical movie. From Anakin making a fake surrender to the Separatist army like Obi-Wan did on Christophsis, Ahsoka walking down in the shuttle like when we were first introduced to her and overall how strong the bond Ahsoka and Rex has become over the years since they first met. And most of all how Anakin agrees with the end of the movie to take Ahsoka as his padawan VS the last shot of Darth Vader looking for Ahsoka.

And The Clone Wars is one of the few pieces that are truly anti-war at their conclusion and summarizes it perfectly.

When Rex drops his helmet after saying: “Yes Lord Sidious” You know he was thinking: Oh fuck, Fives was right

I think the thing with Trace and Rafa being so hated is the fact that they’re in FOUR episodes! They take up a third of the final season of the show we never thought we were going to get a conclusion to. And this was released on a weekly schedule, so we got a month of watching their hi jinx and it could have easily been cut down to just two episodes with them without sacrificing Ashoka’s growth

About the Ahsoka Walkabout Arc, I disagree with most on it seemingly. I came back to watch season 7 recently, so long after its release, and actually throughly enjoyed that arc for what it is. I think the week of waiting between episodes and the hyped expectations for the final season on release is what soured people's opinions on it primarily

Theres of course the annoying contrived motivation to dump the spice which is the cause for much of the conflict; I hate that bit too. But I dont find it to be especially worse than other "oversimplified for children to understand" moments in the show in earlier seasons. It could also maybe have been trimmed down to fit maybe a second story of Ahsoka in exile, or perhaps going into her with Bo Katan

I think seeing Ahsoka fending for herself in exile is definitely a necessary and fun part of the plot, but it couldve been tweaked to be better. She needs the development for her to pick herself up from her sadness, grow her confidence again and realise she does want to be a Jedi, just not a Jedi of the old order

Honestly … I think the main reason season 7 came because Disney + needed as many original shows as possible for its launch. And season 7 was already half done when the show was originally cancelled. The liscense to the artstyle also finally came back from Warner Brothers as well (Which is why it couldn‘t be used in Rebels.) … So it was a mix of extreme luck and good timing.

I’m a fairly new Star Wars fan. I hadn’t seen a single piece of content until 2 years ago. I got to watch the entirety of TCW without knowing what was gonna happen. I was so upset when it ended and I didn’t know what happened to Ahsoka or Rex, so it made rebels 100x better

about the point of knowing how it ends. i dont think it matters, they tell an amazing story and even knowing the ending its nice to see how and why that happened. as long as the story and ride is good the ending being known isnt to bad

16:13 have you ever checked out the ultimate revenge of the sith fan edit? The siege of mandalore stuff spliced in with the battle of couruscant is easily the best part of that experience

I'd also add that Tales of the Jedi further improves Order 66 here. It further develops Ahsoka's early relationship with the clones and shows us how Anakin basically saved her from Order 66 by forcing her to practice against the 501st as often as he did.

I dropped some tears with the finale. It is a piece of art.

I wish more Star Wars fans gave TCW a try. My friends love Star Wars, but they just don't watch this because it's animated.

It's sad to think the Jessie is the final main antagonist of the Clone Wars.

Ok so something that no one has talked about is a certain aspect of seeing vader in that last scene. So in that scene we see Vader stare up at Mori (Ahsoka's owl) and he uses the force on her lightsaber. Now something i noticed immediately is that Vader only has one red-eye lens, the other is black. This leads me to believe that this moment actually takes place very shortly after Vader and Ahsoka's duel on Malachore. Vader is still shaken from that fight and a bit of Anakin was restored. That little bit of Anakin brought him to that gravesite and retrive that blue lightsaber to honor and remember his little sister.
