UNDERWATER FAN SOUND = Fall Asleep Instantly

Let me know what you think of this ambient sonic soundscape of recording a honeywell fan, from the perspective of being underwater. This was a very fun video to set up and create. To start, I dunk my GoPro in a 10 gallon aquarium. I adjust the tripod, so it sits just right on the bottom and is completely submerged. You'll notice that you can see the fan turning through the water, but also you can see the reflection of the fan spinning on the surface of the water as well. Double the relaxing visual!

This unique perspective allows you to experience what it would be like to listen to this fan as though you were submerged underwater. The water removes many of the higher pitch notes associated with the fan sound, leaving only the deep goodness low end sounds, which are excellent for sleeping, relaxing, or as a background sound!

Here is a short equipment list that we use to create all of these relaxing sleep videos which includes, but is not limited too the following. Multiple Go Pro's, A Nikon 7500, a trusty Tascam DR-100 Mk3 for most of the audio recordings in mp3 format, a range of microphones including a Sure 57 for that deep, low end sound. For the final production of both video and audio I use only Adobe Premiere Pro. If you have any questions about how I recorded something, just ask.

When I was a kid and things got tough, I used to seclude myself in the bathroom. I'd turn off the lights, turn on the fan, run the water, and sit on the floor with a towel over my head. I'm 39 years old now, and I still do it to this day. These videos remind me of my self therapy when other resources were unavailable, how much we all have in common, and in particular our common need to feel safe and secure. Thank you.

I have trouble staying asleep. Or after I wake up, I'm up for a long time or never go back to sleep. But not last night. After the wake up, 10 minutes later, if that, , I'm out. Got up for the rest room later. I really thought I was stuck. No more sleep for don't even remember when I drifted back asleep, all I know is I woke up 4 hours later. I do recall my running thoughts trying to keep me awake for a little while, but the underwater fan won! This is brilliant.

This is the perfect volume and tone. I have a puppy that barks at random hours of the night and it drives me crazy. I have noise cancelling headphones and she still manages to get through them. Putting this on to sleep really helps with the frequency of my noise cancellation without being to loud or disturbing and keeping me awake.

Yo. This one is really good. Sometimes there's a distortion or higher pitch with fans that can keep me thinking about it while trying to fall asleep. This absolutely does filter that out. I know this is my new favorite.
