I just got my first Mac (M2 Studio Ultra) and do a lot of photo and video editing. So far I thought a "home built" SSD (ACASIS case w/WD Black 2TB SSD) would be my media drive with a Samsung T7 as my Time Machine. I see you're using the G-Raid. Is it easy to give some pros and cons to either setup?

Looks amazing :) The m1max laptops blew my mind. Cannot believe a non plugged in device can have so much power. I really have no need to upgrade until the m4 or m5max these are that good.

That's the one killer machine I'm saving up for, to really push boundaries in my editing and workflows. I'm currently working exclusively on my M1 MacBook Pro, and it's already starting to struggle with some timelines in FCPX. 1:05 I think you meant "It looks like two Mac Mini's fuse together", not Apple TV's. While the old Apple TV's had a silver case, it has been almost a decade.

Thanks for sharing! I have the base Mac studio and waiting to get the studio display maybe. I think it looks quite elegant too and I found the Mac mini to be lacking in ports and it really showed even though I thought it would be ok. The studio has been critically amazing so far, I use it mainly for editing and content creation too and it does not miss a beat, I love watching reviews on products I just got

Ultraman here Andrew. Some small stick on feet from Bunnings should help with the Mac wanting to bin itself off the desk.

@5:42 it's megabytes not megabit.

@8:10 you're using bit and bytes interchangeably. the USB-C variant supports 10 Gigabit transfers /second which equates to roughly 1.25 Gigabytes/sec.

@8:15 TB4 supports upto 40 Gigabits/sec which equates to roughly 5 Gigabytes/sec and not 400 gigabytes/sec

Would be curiously interested in a review about working in blender with that machine. Can someone post a link abou that topic, please? Just have the info, that workflow it is much better than on M1 and Blender is nicely optimised for Silicon architecture. By the way: nice and helpful review. 👍
