Yang seems to have united a YouTube comments section. It's like 99% positive feedback in a usually very toxic and vile area. That's an astounding task. Maybe it's time people listen to him.

We should try opening the primaries and try using ranked choice voting as a way of mitigating the trend towards irrational and destructive extremism and as a way to increase voter participation in democracy. Our current system relies only on the questionable rationality of a small and determined minority of each party to determine eligibility for office.

Imagine having to register myself as a democrat to vote for Bernie Sanders after hearing him slanders the democratic party for not doing enough and pointed out their flaws. I don't have to imagine, I just did it, and it was weird. and the funnier thing is that he lost. So I had to go throu the trouble of unregistering myself afterward.
