One thing that we can probably agree on is that sacrifices take place in Hollywood. You know it, I know it, and Kanye West sure as hell knows it!

And do you know why those people can be controlled according to Kanye? Because they all took somebody’s life and he didn’t! And when it comes to Jay Z and Beyonce the life they have always been in the spotlight for taking is Aaliyah’s.

People trying to come for Aaliyah's vocals are missing the point. Aaliyah was THAT GIRL. I was in 8th grade when she died and we all wanted to be her. We used to learn her dance moves from all of her music videos, we styled our hair like her...this was long long long before social media and the access we have to artists now. She was a superstar and was literally taken away right as she was becoming bigger. Beyonce was obviously popular too but more people liked LeToya from Destiny's Child, Beyonce had a totally different reputation among us back then.

People don't realize how BIG Aaliyah was. Those commenting about how much better Beyonce is than Aaliyah must be younger than 35. They are speaking from hindsight instead of the way things were, at the time.

The way things were set up, back then, Aaliyah had EVERYONE'S attention. She was singing, in movies, and she was a very positive role model for young girls. She was known as The Princess of R & B. Everybody was into DESTINY'S CHILD, but NOBODY was checking for Beyonce, as a solo artist, back in 2000 or 2001. Aaliyah had the game on lock.

I heard Aaliyah sing, in person, my senior year in high school. I wasn't impressed with her vocals, but she had stage presence and she was beautiful! Her studio voice was 🔥 and so were her albums.

Beyonce, as a solo artist, had NOTHING on Aaliyah (back then). Beyonce wouldn't have gotten as big as she is today, *as a solo artist, * if Aaliyah was still alive. It's not because Beyonce wasn't/isn't talented. It's because Aaliyah was the *IT* girl, at the time! Aaliyah had an innocence about her that was captivating (maybe it was her humility). Beyonce thought she was Diana Ross and Kelly, Letoya, and Latavia were the Supremes. The reality is, Aaliyah started stealing hearts in 1994 and Destiny's Child became a sensational girl group in 1997! Aaliyah was "in the way" of Beyonce's solo career!

Aaliyah had signed a 10 yr 10 movie deal before her death not to mention she already booked the matrix and the sequel Romeo must did amazing and queen of the damned she didn’t even get too complete she dropped her album with no promo and went platinum she was more then a singer she was full on entertainer Aaliyah believed in missy and Tim and together they changed the sound of music and almost all of her songs were timeless and videos when you watch them today it’s like they just came out that’s extremely hard to do and hasn’t been done since she was timeless and way ahead of her time.
