Instead of trying to make a corvette e-ray, they should have gone for prius.
Take a z125 and add a motor, call it a Ninja 3 Hybrid. Giga commuter status.

oh man you missed to test the best thing... when you are in sport mode and standing still, press the eboost button until the bar on the display is flashing, and when you ready then full throttle... that thing flys of the line like a 1000cc bike.

These small motorcycles are already extremely efficient. All that weight and complexity for what? Yes the tech is "cool" until they break. Too expensive to justify buying this over a standard Ninja.

Nice to see Kawasaki still being innovative! Alex, you could not have explained better on the tech side. The bike is not for everyone. New tech and fancy first run, always comes at a price. More great content from Alex and Kase!

Thanks for the video, I think this might be of interest to someone commuting but for someone who likes the sound of the engine and changing gears it's not really going to cut it, certainly not for me as part of the motorcycle experience comes from the sound and being in full control of the bike where Man and bike become one.

The gears on the electric motor are an interesting concept, it's a pity we don't see gearboxes in electric cars, reason being, it's mostly not needed but it could mean the opportunity to make low power electric cars work better at higher speeds rather than releasing more and more powerful and much more expensive cars.

The other thing I can't stand on bikes are TFT screens, menus, modes, lots of switches, this would drive me nuts and it would be very distracting.

The same old issues of higher cost and what happens when it breaks out of warranty ? One huge attraction with bikes is many of them are very simple, if something goes wrong they are easy fix unless it's one of those bikes with all the tech.

I think we need to go back to just simple and basic, cars are so complex now they are almost disposable out of warranty if something happens.

Super cool that you were able to try it. I own a 2021 4XE I bought new. Love the EV mode in town, sure I only work 7 miles from home, but as you, I love the tech! I have 2 Electric MTBs and a scooter. Thank you for the quick review!

I rented a small Ninja in the UK and really liked it for the riding I did. I'd definitely be interested in renting this bike on holiday.

As a novelty it cool. To be first or one of the first in the market is brave, it might not be a first bike but next to your first or second gen Prius, it might be fun

I like that Kawasaki is innovating… but who honestly felt like the ~65 mpg that the ninja 500 gets is a problem? Double the price for 10 extra hp and 10 mpg???

Favorite part of automatic transmissions on bikes is the inclusion of a reverse gear; makes life much more convenient. Just need a backup camera to clearly see directly behind the bike…

Wonder how the stop sale is going to sit with potential buyers. To me, 12.5k for a hybrid that adds a lot more complication for things to go wrong is a deal breaker. There are too many other choices out there that have track records of being easy to work on without needing a dealer. I'll stick with my almost five year old T7.

I laughed at this contraption Kawi made. But I talked to some friends and tbh it's a good idea. If you have a custom exhaust, leaving late night, or coming up to some dog walkers. You could turn on EV mode and go silent for a bit. I can see myself getting one just for commuting. But I wish they would reintroduce a regular shifter.

Hard to beat the reliability and reputation of Kawasaki.

Well I know this is the earliest model but I like the the fact that Kawasaki finally has created the TRUE "ninja" with this all electric (quiet) mode .... Later on after a few more versions it could be a good option for the sportier and louder bikes in certain areas to avoid cops and stuff....

Why not a sports tourer bike, like a Versys, focused on torque and fuel efficiency, I strongly believe that would be very nice to make trips on it.

An upright riding position, good suspension to cope with whatever road you find, comfortable seat and a good mileage, you can't go wrong with that.

Well, Alex, I did not hear the enthusiasm in your voice on this one. I am guessing it does not get your wheels turning enough to consider it for a purchase. And I respect your view on it. One gets a couple extra features that one would not get on a standard Ninja and a smidgen more Eco range. But is that worth the extra thousands of dollars? I say no. You get more weight, you lose your foot shifter. You gain status for being in the new tested hybrid market. And if this does not catch on, you might have a bike worth a few more penny's on resale down the road. As a quiet bike with adequate to good get up and go, I think it would look outstanding in Black. Black with the hybrid color going down the side of the bike. Almost TRON like graphic.

Interesting because to me, this lands between 2 markets; both who won’t buy it. 125cc-250cc frugal full time commuters who want mileage won’t buy this, and recreational sport bike riders do not want to take the power and weight hit.

how much it cost to replace the battery?

They should put their 650 motor in one

Wasn't there a stop sale on these? If so, was the issue resolved?
