One thing Lost in Space beat Star Trek to the punch on was this idea that a robot could have a sense of personality, and a sense of self, like a human; not just an appliance

I LOVED Lost In Space, watched it on Wed evenings & Saturdays when Wed's show repeated. Robot was wonderful -- such personality, great voice!

The robot was not only the best character on that show, he was the best actor!
I know that one man was inside the robot and another man was the voice. But
the robot could elicit bravery, loyalty, intelligence, and humor!

Robot and Smith always saved the show, they were a wonderful pair, in spite of those eternal fights -mouth x mouth. Will was always involved, he was immersed in big trouble - he loved both of them. Thanks a lot, the Robot´s voice was totally clear and powerful !
