Affinity Photo PATTERN layers de-mystified. Now you have the power!

Let's have a look in this video how pattern layers work in Affinity Photo and how we can use them to create amazing and sometimes interesting results.

After a quick explanation how they work, i will share some practical situation with some challenges and how to fix them.

As a bonus at the end of the video, a quick tip for Affinity Designer users on how to create patterns.

Thanks for the demo of the pattern layer!

For designer, I use a two artboard setup where the first is a symbol (with and without other symbols on it) and the second has that main artboard symbol duplicated on a power of two for square, or a landscape or portrait ratio

wow, this is great thank you - maybe as a learner some of it was a bit fast for me so I had to replay at 0.25 to see where the cursor was going then I got lost on the pattern correction re the patterned wallpaper (which I'd really like to understand better). Please make more, maybe with a little more explanation for learners (like me) - huge thanks! :)

I don’t know if this works on Affinity 1, but on Affinity 2 if you transfer a pattern from Affinity Photo to Affinity Designer, it recognizes it as a pattern and you can use it on Affinity Designer as a pattern in fact
