Zero’s FXE brings an electric concept bike to life

Zero's new FXE bike is based off a concept motorcycle we saw back in 2019. We loved the bike then, but weren't sure it'd ever hit production. Now the FXE is here, and there's a lot to love. The FXE is super light, with zippy acceleration and responsive handling. It feels somewhere in between a commuter motorcycle and a dirt bike, but with electric torque, and equally at home on twisty mountain roads and downtown streets.

The only downside is a relatively short range, 100 miles, but with the ability to charge off a standard plug, that still gets you a lot of freedom.

Fun bike for those who can afford it, have a car or 2nd motorcycle to use for long trips and have a private garage to charge that's a very small market share.

The design is too polarizing to appeal to a wider audience. Dare, I say, it looks more like a Dirt Rally Bike than a Daily Commute Bike. Probably because of the Naked Body. The Full Body model looks sick on the other hand, but still can't be a Daily Commuter just because of the lack of practicality (range anxiety, charging rates etc). Both of them are enthusiast bikes, tbh. There are a few EV Motorbikes in my country, India which are crazy good and way more practical designs than this one. Check out Ather 450x, for example. Range is less, but then again it is a daily commuter 🤷‍♂️.
