In February 2019 the NLI held its first Diversity and Inclusion Forum, in collaboration with Creative Ireland. Over 70 individuals from diverse communities came together at the NLI to discuss issues surrounding gender, marital status, family status, sexual orientation, religious belief, age, disability, race, membership of the Traveller community and socio-economic status.

Our library service is diverse. So diverse it includes the work of michel foucault who campaigned for the removal of age of consent laws and signed a petition in support of pedophiles in 1977.
