Jen Meets Roy & Moss | The IT Crowd Series 1 Episode 1 Yesterday's Jam

The IT Crowd is a comedy set in the London offices of the fictional Reynholm Industries, the show revolves around the three staff members of its IT department: a geeky genius named Maurice Moss (Ayoade), the work-shy Roy Trenneman (O'Dowd), and Jen Barber (Parkinson), the department head/relationship manager, who knows nothing about IT. The show also focuses on the bosses of Reynholm Industries: Denholm Reynholm (Chris Morris) and later, his son Douglas (Matt Berry).

The comedy premiered on Channel 4 on 3 February 2006, and ran for four series of six episodes each. Although a fifth series was commissioned, it was never produced. The programme was concluded with a special, one-off episode, aired on 27 September 2013.

As an IT professional with over 40 years' experience I have to tell you that the scene where Jenn gets off the elevator in the bowels of the building, with broken steam lines and leaks all around, halls jammed with equipment creating fire hazards is SO f'ing spot on!!! Most help desks are, as depicted here, located down in the bowels of the building. When I was working IT support for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Arlington, VA, our spaces were down in the basement. When you stood at the configuration bench (which was made out of metal, of course), a puddle would form around your feet. Apparently there was a fractured pipe, whether it was water or sewage, I don't know, that ran right under the bench. As I pointed out to our manager, water, electricity and metal make for a dangerous combination, but what did I know, I was just a help desk pc schlepper. Of course, the Office of the Inspector General and OSHA thought I might be on to something.

I thought this kind of setting is a bit over the top, then I got a new job.... I'll rewatch it in a new perspective from now on.

When I first watching IT crowd, I assume that OMG this two male character gonna be annoying but I was wrong after watching the whole show.
The character development is just the best

I recall having worked in a cold and nasty basement room for many months. It was referred to as the meatlocker, and since our boss was a yes man we suffered until space was available in the normal office area.
