Interesting. Our VERY recent cruise on her almost couldn’t be more opposite. All the speciality/extra venues (Ocean Grill, Sindhu and Neptunes Grill) were all open and managed to book tables whilst onboard - the app doesn’t really work for her. Staffing levels were acceptable - although could have been better but this is something plaguing most ships and lines at the moment, and almost all members seemed to happy, attentive and efficient - especially the ones on reception. Menus in the main restaurant were ok to good, some very good and good to see loads of choice at the late night buffet etc. Agree that organisation in the main restaurant seems chaotic at times, but we had no real problem getting a table for two for lunch or dinner. Ship was being kept clean and lovely to see her exterior being painted and being kept up after her dry dock before coming back into service along with hand rails being varnished regularly. Sadly leaks and their resulting buckets do plague her - after all she is getting on for 18 years old and is by far the most intrepid ship crossing the globe and takes a hammering but yes perhaps maintenance teams could be increased and stepped up. However none of it really affected our time on her. It’s was our 28th cruise (all mainly with P&O Cruises, Cunard & Princess) and we had a superb time. She’s a very understated ship, no fake ritz or glitz but has class. Wouldn’t hesitate to cruise on her again - in fact booked 30 days to America and Canada in 2024 whilst we were on her…

Just watched your video and wondered what the the situation would be like for a disabled person relying on a mobility scooter would be like navigating the Arcadia? Give her a break she’s a 20 year old cruise ship and this year she’s due to go in for her big refit in November then she’s going around the world aye she’s old but a ship that age is bound to have issues should try aim for a younger ship if u want better stuff happens to every vehicle older it gets harder it is to maintain but P&O Cruises do their best and the fact she’s still in use I’d travel on her she’s a lovely example of Modern day cruise ships 🛳️

Thanks guys for your tour around Arcadia. The quote your video’s is at another level, congratulations. Friends went on her “betwixmas” cruise and like you, described her as “homely” but a little tired (they still enjoyed her though). With P&O moving towards bigger ships, you fear for the likes of Arcadia and Aurora. 🙏👍

We did a Christmas cruise on Arcadia last year and what a disappointment. The air condition in our cabin kept breaking down and the temperature in our cabin hovered around 24c most of the time. There were leaks everywhere and a particularly bad one outside the theatre, we found the food bland and uninspiring. We have cruised with P&O for many years but, after this and our disappointment with Iona, we will never cruise with P&O again.
