Unstoppable - Losing Breaks clip

In UK cinemas 24th November.

Inspired by actual events, "Unstoppable" is an adrenaline rush fueled by director Tony Scott's signature mark of propulsive action rooted in the reality of ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances. A veteran train engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine) race the clock to stop an unmanned runaway train -- effectively a missile the size of a skyscraper -- and prevent disaster in a heavily populated area.

the same thing was done to stop the real life Crazy 8 that is based on this incident. a CSX crew hooked onto the back of Crazy 8 and they did the same thing hooked up to the rear of the train, charged up the air, put the train in Dynamics and turned all of the hand brakes on the side of the cars in an attempt to slow it down. the guy that slow down enough that another crew jumped onto the locomotive on the head end and then they pull the levers and hit the shut-off switch and Crazy 8 was finally shut down for good. right now Crazy 8 is over in Boise being cut up for scrap so ends that locomotives notorious career.

@runawayfreak it wouldn't be that easy you would have to bend down to uncouple the cars

This movie has so many things wrong with it! For instance, when trying to stop the train from the front with set of locomotives, why did they have to hook on? Also, why was there only one person in that engine? The smart thing to have done, is to use one engine, let the runaway catch up to it, when they were close enough to bump, the second person would have been there at the front of the runaway, where everything they needed to stop the train was located! But, then again, this is Hollywood.

wouldn't it be smarter to uncouple the tank cars and THEN put on the brakes, the chemicals will be save, not much friction will be there because the main engines won't pull anymore, and 777 can be derailed :) or the brakes still don't hold and we have 2 runaways...:(
