Did anybody else notice Charles set a poll for this and Master of Puppets (which won), but played it anyway for the fans who voted for it? The people’s bass champ right here.

With a loop pedal and your talent are you truly ever alone? Always love your compositions! This one is a banger!

I saw it was Bill Withers, one of the most soulful singers ever and I was like "this better have soul!" I am not disappointed. You are invited to the cookout, Charles.

Would love to see a time-lapsed Charles learning a song and arranging it. Just incredible

You know what I think? I want an album of elevator music from Charles. No matter what elevator I get into and where, I want to hear funky bass by Charles. Please.

how can this man produce so many near-perfect if not absolutely perfect songs and renditions?? How is he friggin good???

Edit: people keep responding to me like I don’t know the obvious. My question above was a rhetoric one. I obviously know and deeply appreciate the ungodly amount of practice Charles must be putting in to get so good. I know that.

I can't believe how exciting this piece is! I just listened to it six times in a row. Having been a musician myself, it's easy to see his extraordinary talents of musicality, technique, creativity, improvisation and composition. Also, he's an amazing cameraman and producer of high grade videos.

Charles’s twin brother is an even better bassist than Charles himself. He needs to start his own YouTube channel!

Every jazz player should listen to how you play this song so they can expand their playing levels. It’s also just really nice to listen to! I would love to hear my teacher play this song for us in jazz band!

When the vote was between the 2 songs, I had a feeling he would come through for all of us, Great job Charles, thank you!

Never thought of this piece as a duet. Wonderful discovery! ❤❤ Particularly love the smoothness of the sound when you finger-pick, and the beginning of the slap section. Thank you, and praise the Lord for your talent and hard work.

That bad note at 1:50 actually gives more character I think. Love it

Musical, tasteful, true to the original and incredible technique. You're undoubtedly the best bassist of this generation when it comes to mastery of the instrument.

Just to let you know how big of an impact watching you play this song was for me.. I am disabled with an immunocompromised disorder that the doctors don't understand.

So the too long didn't read version of this is that I was just told that I once again have a blood infection. This is and can be life-threatening to me, and in fact I have suffered three septic shock Comas where I was not expected to live any of those instances most recently in April of 2022. So, in an effort to keep me out of the hospital given that I'm immunocompromised already and have a deep understanding and set of experience in this Arena my infection doctor allowed me to stay home over the weekend as long as my vital stayed within certain parameters and then I wouldn't have to go into the emergency room. So I'm sitting here taking my blood pressure which is too low, and my heart rate which is too high, and my temperature.

So, I begin to listen to your music this song in particular. I was gratified to see that from the beginning of the song to the end of the song my heart rate dropped into more normal ranges.

See it's normal to have low blood pressure and high heart rate when you have a blood infection because your body doesn't have everything it needs to survive it's being attacked from the inside so all the blood you need is being sent to kill the Invaders In Layman terms, but your heart still needs to pump enough oxygen to all your organs and your brain so it has to work super super hard. Usually people have fevers Non-Stop but I am abnormal in most ways and fevers for me just don't happen that frequently.

I'm so sorry this is taking so long to describe, I swear this is the too long didn't read version of this story, because frankly I'm a writer and I'm writing my story and even just to snippet of it seems to take up a ridiculous amount of words. Thanks for sticking with me thus far I promise I will be done soon!

So your video in short and the Beautiful sound of you playing this song actually actively brought my heart rate down and calmed the pounding in my chest. That's a big deal, music makes a difference when you are ill, so does creativity so does art so if someone else out there is sick chronically the way that I am or in any way find Outlets to express yourself creatively as well as enjoying creative Outlets that others do because it's good for your body soul and your mind.

If for some reason you end up being more interested and want to know more about my story I'm more than happy to share it, you're welcome to just respond and repost if you want and I'll do my best to answer any questions of anybody if I notice that a comment has been made on my post. Thank you so much for the beautiful music that you create and the fact that you encourage other musicians as well is wonderful, I am a singer though it isn't something that I have been well enough to do for many years but I have a deep passion for music and believe that it has healing properties.

Blessings and peace to all of you, Sachi
