Out performed beyond my expectations. After I bought it, I took it on a 1300 mile ride thru beautiful Colorado country. My milage at that altitude averaged 58.7 mpg! I was exceedingly happy! Immediately after the first 500 miles, I realized I did not have enough butt muscle...the trip broke in the seat only half way..and my butt lost. I ordered a complete Corbin seat set up. Looking fwd to it and other needed accessories like the engine guards and passngr back rest and rear rack...coming! I absolutely love the character of this machine!! It fits just right next to my competent 1250 GSA! My Road King is for sale...after several yrs...I finally found THE cruiser that will honor its place and beyond.

Excellent Machine. I rode 60-70 mph max at this point. Windshield seemed okay, may be not great at a higher speed. Will see. Fuel Gauge would have been awesome. Don’t know how/why missed it.

Amazing performance, altogether a brilliant work of engineering..

I own the Classic. Love it. Two flaws. Windscreen is abhorrent. A BMW engineer designed that? But Clearview Shields applied their 36 years of experience and offer a stellar alternative in multiple heights and with wind recurve. The stock seat is a brick. Fine for running around town but not beyond. I upgraded to the Day Rider seat. There are three upgrade seats available from BMW but their made by Mustang.

Not the boxer you’re used to is it! I’m intrigued by the R18 for sure, especially the Trans Continental.

Sounds like a crappy oem windshield. Was there much vibration at 80? thx

This bike is better without the screen altogether. The windblast is perfectly manageable up to 90 + mph. The buffeting would drive me mad. Glad i opted for the basic model. A cross country seat tranformed its long distance capability. I can ride all day and no sore butt. Nothing on this bike is designed by accident. The vibration is there purely for characters sake. Corner clearance is perfectly fine for its intended purpose. Overall its an incredible piece of kit and a perfectly good alternative to a Harley cruiser for those that think outside the square.
