GOODBYE, GHIBLI

A few weeks ago, Studio Ghibli announced that they were taking a break from film production. While they haven't made a final decision, it's possible that "When Marnie Was There" will be their last feature film. Animators the world over have been inspired by Ghibli films; this is Animation Domination High-Def's small tribute to Studio Ghibli. We want to say Thank You. And we hope they don't go away for good.

Animation Domination High-Def is a block of cartoons that air every Saturday on FOX at 11PM/10c and all over the Internet all the time.

I remember seeing commercials for Kiki's Delivery Service as a kid but the first one I saw from start to finish was Princess Mononoke and it blew me away. I was a small kid back then, still a fan of Pokemon and never heard the term anime, and when I saw the violent scenes in Princess Mononoke, it scared me but I couldn't look away because it was so beautiful and fantastic. For years since I couldn't even remember the name until Cartoon Network had a marathon of Miyazaki films, starting with Spirited Away. After seeing Spirited Away, I immediately became a fan of Miyazaki's work and went out of my way to watch all of his films. I don't regret it.

The first Studio Ghibli film I saw was Castle in the Sky, when I was like 7. Then I saw Spirited Away not soon after... After that I saw Kiki's Delivery Service. Then I saw Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind, Porco Rosso, The Cat Returns, My Neighbour Totoro, Pom Poko, My Neighbours the Yamadas, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, The Secret World of Arriety, Whisper of the Heart, Tales from Earthsea, ... and then I realised how awesome Studio Ghibli was.

Please don't end... Studio Ghibli embodies my favourite Childhood films :(

I've never watched any Ghibli movie before, so today I decided I'll binge watch most of them. I just finished The Secret World of Arrietty, and holy shit, definetly one of the best mobies I've ever watched, if not the best one, and I've been told it's not even one of the best from Ghibli. I can't wait to finish all of them and re-watch this video, recognizing every bit of the stories here.
