and it's republic. Before 1.34 when forming Russia, you've turned into monarchy with Tsardom government reform, but now developers added Veche Republic reform, which makes russian republic possible.

The joke is that the Novgorod Republic is a medieval copy of modern Russia. In both, oligarchs are in power, an export-oriented economy (Novgorod sold animal skins, and modern Russia oil and gas).

The last update super-nerfed getting crowlands from conquest. Plus all of your estates have very high influence, which effects the amount of crownlands you get from peace-deals. It's entirely possible that with the influence they had you were *losing* crownlands each time you took provinces.

For future reference, if you plan to do some conquests in the first 10-15 years of the game, try to avoid giving privileges that bump up estate influence unless absolutely necessary

It's a shame it wasn't the one to unite the Rus. Unlike Muscovy, it was a state with strong political, economic, cultural and ideocratic ties to the West.
One can only imagine how different the history would be if instead of Autocratic Tsar, Russia was united by the Republican Novogrod...

I must say, a good trick and one that helped me ally Poland even before war with Tver, was to offer military access to Poland, somehow it made them friendly. Then I called them in in a defensive war after I vassalized Tver, and from then on very smooth sailing. I wanted the Frozen Assets Achievement so I went heavily into Timurids and India, with some ugly snake borders, but it makes you extremely rich, arguably more fun then “normal” Muscovy Russia

Я изначально в первые годы втягивал в войну с Литвой союзную Польшу и освобождал Смоленск, Полоцк, а так же Запорожскую сечь, Киев и Волынь. Так же делал с Астраханью и Черниговым в орде. Будучи защитником православной веры это приятно осознавать - никакого агрессивного расширения, лишь освобождение братских русских княжеств и создание союзов. Естественно вассализировал по очереди, в последствии присоединял через дипломатию. Не понимаю дебафа только «присоединял провинции», если все проходит мирно. А ещё нужно последовательно проводить обьединение, ибо дабаф за лишние связи.
