I just realized that the Circular thing that you pointed out to know you are in an axiom is interesting. it reminds me of the world view on evolution that some have said is circular but that person was making fun of it for being circular. Now after hearing what you said maybe we should not make fun of that and yes it was from an apologetic person. His name is Kent Hovind. I remember Accepting Christ in August 1974 ( Summer Camp ), by a sober minded question on death, GOD, HIS Holiness, My Sinfulness, and Christ's Propitiation as sole means of my **Eternal Salvation, ( ** as opposed to a less sober minded 4 spiritual laws approach a few days earlier ), and being a babe in Christ in mainline church, where GOD periodically allow moments of teaching on Prophecy, thouout 1975, till using a minor emotional crisis in early 1976 to get me established in the Church of HIS Choice, which for me was a small IFB church in NW Indiana, which had fellowship with Jack Hyles, John R Rice. .

As far as Doctrine goes, as I heard of various doctrines m I sensed a Yay, or Nay in my inner man.

Calvinists lock themselves into this belief to the point that they have to add things to the text that just isn't there. i.e. God doesn't love everyone so the rich man that went away sad after Christ told him to sell all his possessions and give the money to the poor was in fact saved because Christ loved him. When I pointed out that Christ sounds like he loves the israelites when he said, " Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing." Sounds like he wants them to be saved but they are not willing. I got ignored and my comment hid. What are they trying to hide!? If they are solid, why must they hide sound opposition? I like your reaction around the 45-minute mark. Reminds me of myself when I just want people to think and that is what you are doing. Seems the world just wants to tell us what to believe and not come to those ideas on our own and you are saying that about Christianity and I am not disagreeing. Apologetics is not for believers Kevin. I'm kind of surprised at you. In regards to Ravi.... I'm sure you have watched his videos. He deals with Atheists, Skeptics and those on the fence. Not many bible believing Christians popping up in the line to challenge him are there?

The Holy Spirit promises to lead us to all truth. That is for the Christian... When you begin to receive truth from the Holy Spirit and you respond to it in a way that pleases the Father, then you are ready for more. And more comes....

Those without the Holy Spirit, the lost... Apologetics is a fundamental aspect of Evangelism. Do you really not see this? We don't need to defend our faith to other Christians Kevin.... A Christian needs to learn how to defend their beliefs to stop the onslaught of scoffing unbelievers. To answer questions for the lost and seeking. How about talking to a Mormon, Jehovah's Witness or a Calvinist and being able to tell him why he is wrong and why you are right? Isn't every single video you produce on Calvinism a complete and thorough apologetic? Apologetics are necessary to address false converts and bring them to the truth. Apologetics are necessary for a parent to explain why they believe what they believe to their child.

I'm worried brother... How can you be missing this? Are you saying that we need to intellectually understand Christianity before even coming to the faith?

Is Christianity a club where only those who understand can belong? Those poor, poor missionaries working with those obscured hidden tribes... Should they abandon apologetics?

Most people will not even begin to dig into the Bible to understand doctrine until they accept the Gospel as true - and there is where they will begin to understand. They won't even be able to defend it until then. Then their "defense" isn't necessarily presented to other Christians only. Their testimony goes out to the lost and in that, their understanding gets expressed in the form of apologetics.
