Last captain was impressive. There were a lot of people on that boat and he was still able to hold the bow up where it needed to be.

That second Pardo absolutely STUFFED the bow! Very lightly but at least twice!!!

i dont think i have ever seen a pardo or axopar win. those hull desgins are terrible

Haulover does not seem bad at all compared to some of the crossings we have here in Oregon on the coast. The Columbia River Bar can be deadly, I have crossed it at night during an ebbtide during a storm. It was a 6-hour crossing and the USCG had eyes on me the entire way, it was not a fun night, my deckhand left the boat as soon as we docked in Astoria, and I never heard from him again. Depot Bay is one that I am glad to say that I have never attempted and hope that I never have to. On the Columbia River Bar, weather can make ships wait outside until the conditions change and raises fear in many who cross it. It is, after all, the graveyard of the Pacific.

I have been watching this inlet for years, and I have come to the conclusion boat design and crazy styles overides real boating safety and practicality.
