The Presidential Records Act says that a president has to turn over all official documents to the National Archives and Records Administration upon leaving office. The argument that it allows former presidents to keep classified documents is completely bonkers.

An indictment walked up to me - big, strong indictment - tears in it's eyes, and said, "SIR, you are the most bigly indicted president the world has ever seen".

Recent administrations with the MOST criminal indictments:
Trump (Republican) — 215
Nixon (Republican) — 76
Reagan (Republican) — 26
Recent administrations with the LEAST criminal indictments:
Biden (Democrat) — 0
Obama (Democrat) — 0
Carter (Democrat) — 1
Clinton (Democrat) — 2
Notice a pattern?

The lawyers seem content with knowing this is their final case before disbarment.

Trump's lawyer, speaking of the Presidential Records Act, repeatedly said things like "his documents" and implied that the act was about the President deciding what to do with "his" documents. That is the opposite of the purpose and requirements of the Presidential Records Act, which was intended to take the "decision" about what to do with records away from the president, and makes clear that presidential records belong to the people, and are not the personal property of the president, not while in office, and certainly not afterward. I have to assume Trump's lawyer is attempting this gaslighting intentionally.

What does the presidential records act have to do with actions once they are out of office? When you don't have a defense you have to make up anything you can find to create some sort of objection to the prosecution!!!

So, if a cashier on their last day at the bank walks out with a vast sum from the vault, that's OK because, while they worked there, they were authorized to go into and remove things from the vault. MAGA "logic" at its (re)finest.

Trust Cannon as much as Trump, if she allows one moment delay shows she's skewed.
