Amen! You can't escape from your conscience. I believe that it is the voice of God telling me to follow it. It may be unpleasant at times, but I still feel that pulling to follow it. God does permit suffering, but it will bring about a Greater good. We may not always see or understand it at the time, only God knows the plan he has for us and the reason why.
