Prince Jalal ad-Din was forced across the Indus, where he would flee deeper and deeper into India. This particular battle would foreshadow events to come. Today it would he considered a better leader for surrendering right away and saving more of his men's lives, **or** by going into battle _with_ them and dying courageously or being captured honestly. Not sending others to fight and die while he escapes to safety.
