Yeahhhh... that's about right. When I was 7 or 8 (1966ish) My friend's dad had his American cousin and his family come to stay for a week. They had a boy our age and he was told he had to go play in the back street with the other kids and make friends. This was 1966(ish) in a northern shipbuilding town, just remember that. Well, 'Kit' came out to play... yes that was his name, so off to a terrible start. It got worse though, he wore shorts, BAD... green denim shorts WORSE... with a fringe around the legs holes. I feel sorry for the way we treated him, well, NOW I do. Back then I couldn't wait to finish my tea and get out there to join in on his emotional destruction.
