I've had good experiences with selling and buying on Craigslist. Always in person, always cash, always at the local police station parking lot. Free and easy to set up. No shipping or billing hassles. I drive up and down the northeast for work and I time my searches and offers to match where I'll be any given week. Even when not traveling, when I've had a good set priced to move, I've had folks drive 100 miles to meet me in my hometown. This isn't for people who are in a hurry, however.

Just dipping my toe in and bought the last boba fett helmet at my target at a discount. I might buy the last couple ones at other local stores too since it might retire soon!

Been gathering inventory and still waiting for stock to retire and some have now had retirement extended

Well, as someone that has unopened Kenner Star Wars toys in boxes since the 80s (when I got into this), I found this amusing. Free, proper storage space is key, however. Thanks.

I would imagine the best thing for Lego investors is Lego as a company going under

Regardless of what i'm selling, no matter if it's Blu-rays or DVDs or even Lego etc. I always charge postage and packing, i don't shipping big items to the US anymore cause it's way too expensive.

Awesome video!
I think you covered all the basics to know when getting into Lego investing. Everytime i thought of something that i thought would be good to know also, a few minutes later you mention it :-D
I have been investing for about a year, and what i find to be the hardest, is being patient. Waiting for a set to retire and then go out of stuck everywhere. Also, the space it takes up is terrible!
My best advice for a new investor would be to start of with a few sets that are already retired. Find something at a local store, and the basically sell it right away. Get a sale as fast as possible. Doesnt matter if the roi is low. If you just buy sets for 2-3 years, without selling something, then the chance that you give up before you get started is very likely.

Investors beware!!! It looks good when you see a retired set valued at X amount of $ on paper, but good luck finding the few people actually willing to pay it. When Steamboat Willie retired my local Target had 4 at 50% off. I believe it was $100 retail. I bought 3 because one box was severely damaged. Anyway built one and have been trying to sell the other 2 right away. Its been retired awhile. Still have those 2 sets and I am on just about every online goods distributor. Idk, if thats not a set that would go up in value and be in demand Idk what would. Its Disney AND the very first cartoon with Mickey they put out. Collectibles are more hassle than their worth imho.

Why? I bought a Venater Star Destroyer for $125, 10 years ago. Kept it new in the box and now its near 1K!

Great video, thank you! I also think to invest in Lego, cause people say "nowdays everyone and their dog resell the Lego", so I also want to have a profit from this. I watch some videos and went to stores to see the prices and how it looks like (never had experience with Lego, cause parents always told me that this is expensive toy). But now parents tell me that instead of this time, that i am checking Lego, I could work in cleaning houses, and could earn much more than buying and somehow selling Lego. Now I am not maybe they right, but again, everybody somehow sell this Lego.

Great video. You covered so many items. It is great you brought up where are you going to sell. In addition I would advise people to sell 5-10 items on the platform that they are going to choose. Sell some random items from your house and understand the process. I think people greatly overlook the selling portion of the business.

HDX racks are good but there are sharp plastic bits that will carve up your boxes.

I found this video very helpful and interesting. I also find a lot of enjoyment in getting deals and making a profit. One thing I will add is if you really like Lego, buy sets that you think are cool and that way it makes it so much more fun. For me it’s the mandalorian starfighter and bad batch shuttle, the ships and figures are cool and I’d open them even if they don’t make as much as I’d like

The fuel cost has forced me to buy more sets when I drive to stores at sale time.

I live in the country and it costs me $70 aud in fuel to do a round trip to a few Targets/BigW stores.

I've only started investing about a month ago and have already spent half my life savings:)

And I only just built my first set in 35 years, I had forgot how fun it is.
