So if N5 is supposed to be beginner level, does that mean N1 is impossibly difficult or is there just a steep learning curve to get to N5, and the rest comes faster?

Three years of studying, and I got only four correct. I thought N5 was supposed to be the easiest? The test is a few weeks away, and I'm stuck in a nightmare. I think I might be done with Japanese.
