CB linear amplifier makes to much power

Little CB amplifier makes a lot of power. 1.5 watt dead key with a while 15 watts of drive.

The 3000 watt setting is out of calibration and needs adjusting inside, there will be a separate adjustment pot for each scale. On the 300 watt scale you got a 22 watt dead-key but when you switched to the 3000 watt scale your dead-key was 50+ watts, so the 3000 watt scale is reading way too high.

How many pills are in the amp? By the looks of the cabinet it looks like a 2 pill or maybe a 1x2 pill, although normally you will not get that kind of power from either!

That amp probably puts out as much power on harmonics as the fundamental frequency, hence the high reading.

Also you have to realize that a bird meter isn't going to only show clean watts. It's going to read the same as any other meter. The radio must be clean to get clean watts out. Doesn't matter it it's a bird meter, MFJ or a $20 truck stop meter. Some people are simply to hung up on the bird thing. This MFJ actually shows less RMS and PEP watts versus a bird! Already been there and done that.

I had a 1x4 with a 2290 driving 4, 2879's. At 14.5v with a radio DKing 2 watts swinging 30 would drive the amp to around 1100 pep and around 590 average. The power you're seeing is about right for a 1x4.

A simple rule in life. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. That little box would melt down if the output power was that high.

I believe your swr is very high. Check it and see. Don't think you will get that kind of power out of it.

Got my hands on a chinese knockoff RM Italy and can't figure out what the heck it's doing. I think the switches might be wired backwards or something. Was looking forward to a tiny bit of fire in my wire but sadly no flameage for me...

Edit: Got my setup looked at and figured out that Hys knockoff amp doesn't do the output it says, go figure right?! Lesson learned. Don't buy chinese knockoff junk to try and save a buck. Not worth the gamble. I will go and buy a local built HAM class c amp and call it a day.

I hate to bust your bubble, but look at your SWR’s when you’re doing it it’s called reflect backed up in your radio, causing your meter to read so high. It’s not good but that little two pill should be maybe max of 250 W. But you’ll figure it out when it blows up.😂
