Interested in finding out what happens in the “Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering” department? Pop along to our public open day at Darlington Memorial Hospital on Thursday 16th March from 1-5pm, or visit University Hospital of North Durham on Friday 17th March from 1-5pm.

Robyn Cooke, Medical Physicist, said, “Scientists and engineers in the NHS make a real difference to people’s lives and this is an opportunity for anyone to come along and find out more. We’ll be giving practical demonstrations and demystifying the work we do. For example, not many people know that we use small amounts of radioisotope tracers to spot cancer or to see how your internal organs work!”

Staff from the department will give interactive and fun demonstrations suitable for all, whether you’re an intrigued member of staff, a curious patient or an interested member of the public. No appointment is necessary and the event is free.
