Ripping off the bandage! MTB in Greece!

Today I am ripping off the bandage! I am taking a deep breath and I join my friend Costas in riding through the burned Tatoi. We pedal up the scorched access roads, and we do three representative trails of the area. The flow, a proper downhill trail, Little Richard, the jumping nursery, and the winners, a cross country trail.

Είναι λυπηρή αυτή η εικόνα… κάθε φορά που ανεβαίνω απλά με πιάνει ένα σφίξιμο κι ένα «γιατί»… Όμως πιστεύω σε ένα «νεκρό» βουνό, οφείλουμε να του ξαναδώσουμε την ζωή που του αξίζει! Όπως μας φιλοξένησε στα καταπράσινα μονοπάτια του, καλό θα ήταν να μην του «γυρίσουμε την πλάτη»…
Εύχομαι τα μπορέσουν παιδιά μας να το ζήσουν όπως το ζήσαμε κι εμείς!

Ζω εδώ από το 2005 κάθε φορά που μπαίνω στο βουνό μετά την φωτιά εχω πάντα το ιδιο σφίξιμο το είδα και σε σενα Mike στο intro σου αλλά όπως έχουμε πει το δάσος μας χρειάζεται, great video οπως παντα, show your love and affection στο βουνό μας !!!

Wauw what a devastating sight. A question from a riders perspective, as you know the Tatoi trails so well. How did your brain compute the trails when the surroundings had changed so dramatically since last you rode them? Did they still come naturally or was it like riding an unknown trail?

Tough to see the devastation, but the bandaid had to be ripped off. Glad you pushed yourself back to the trails and now you’ll build new memories there and watch it find new life.
