The 10th gen community on CivicX (including myself) has had a lot of issues with the fitment of the upper portion of all aftermarket and OEM grilles. The clips for that portion of the grill are very weak, and don't do well after removing the grille. Some have used small zip-ties to hold the clips together, and others (such as myself) have used high-strength glue. It's definitely easier to fix the problem before putting the bumper back on the car. Best of luck! I look forward to seeing how it all turns out.

I have the same grille, I fixed the gap. It's not a flaw in the construction, what it is is that the little "tooth" or "clip" molded into the bumper gets folded down when you take the old grille out, so you have to start at one side and push the grille in while manipulating the part of the grille that goes into the hole on the bumper until it gets pushed all the way in, then use a trim tool or small flathead to push the "tooth" or "clip" into the slot on the grille so it fits right. It completely closed the gap for me, and I did this alone with no second person to help. A second person would have made it easier just for having more hands to hold/push things.

As someone else already mentioned the fitment at the top of the grille isn't because of the grille itself. It's the little tabs that are supposed to click into the bumper; they're very weak and don't actually snap in correctly. This is the reason I left my oem si one on. I did have to replace my gf's and same issue. What I did was had her push the grille in while i inserted a zip tie through the holes of the grille tab and bumper tab. This allowed it to keep it tight as if it had clipped in. It's been great so far and you can't tell. It sucks but that's just the way it is. As for the lower bumper mesh I'd recommend leaving it as is because if you cut it off, the bumper will sag in the middle. I did a bumper swap for my gf's car also and the old owner had it cut off and it sagged so we actually bought the oem honda lower bumper grille and it's back to normal. That part costs $100~$150 depending where you get it soooo might be something to consider

I also have that gap at the the top of my grill too. It's small when I installed the bumper on the car. But it's kinda annoying to look at if you pay attention

Same issue with the fitment bro. Yeah i just ignored it at first it annoyed me though. Have had the same honeycomb grill for about 2 years its still in awesome condition besides the fitment on top.

How you keep the car so cleaned? I have corolla e170 2019 model in black colour. I cant keep it clean. When i clean, i get swell marks on it. Need your advise

I have the same issue on my 2017 civic hatch about the fitment issue on grille. It’s a stock grille and planning to buy a aftermarket grille.

What did you do on your grille? Did u really use a ziptie?

I bought the same grill and had the gap as well, after about a week it annoyed me enough to take the bumper off again and glue it to the bumper to get rid of the gap

before or when you send the bumper to paint you should get a dremmel and open up the mesh on both side vents also

i just got a 2020 si sedan and first mods i have done are prl pedal relocator and 2020 ctr shift knob. oohh i love the shift knob. today i just got d2 coilovers and oem sedan window visors, im going to install them very soon. i dont care about the ads so i went coilovers. can always go back if anything.
