Horror Vacui - Consolation Prize (unofficial video)

For their fourth LP, "Living For Nothing", the Italian vampires Horror Vacui have stripped away some of the bluster and reverb, yielding a powerful goth-punk record. The band puts melody and message up front right from the start. “Consolation Prize” song gallops forward with a combination of rage and riotous freedom in its anti-religious lyrics. This 2020 opus was recorded in a studio based in Bologna – a new experience they wanted to try – while exploring a slightly different sound that is clearer and somehow less rough than on their previous albums. It's probably the climax of their creative path so far.
