Illini are one team that is certainly capable of beating U Conn. But it won't be easy. It must be all hands on deck, and Illini cannot miss free throws or turn the ball over so much. Every opportunity will count big time because U Conn can punish teams for making mistakes. If TSJ and Domask are big contributors and the supporting cast like Dainja shows up, Illini have a very decent shot. Domask has to be much better than he was in the Iowa State game. Dainja is the X man. Just look at his stats the previous games. He contributes in so many ways, the rebounds and blocks being such a big factor.

Domask did a TON of things not on the stat sheet! Took care of the ball, battled thru 40 mins on the floor! He didn't have to score to make an impact!

If these guys(Illini) would just have hit some of their free throws this game wouldn’t have even been this close. While I think Connecticut will win if Domask has a big come back game and Shannon can go off yet again they could make it interesting. The key will be to get Clingan in early foul trouble the way Creighton did when they waxed them about a month ago.

Cliff's Notes on Illinois for broadcasters: they don't have a true point guard, there is a big shadow on Terrance Shannon because of a rape charge, they haven't been to the final four since 2005 where they lost to North Carolina, and the Big Ten has not won the National Championship since 2000. Rinse and repeat.
